Pottery Use
Recommendations
From: Imports West, LLC
When choosing the size of your pottery,
remember the larger the container, the more moist
the soil will remain, so that time between watering
is minimized.
Most of the Mexican pottery is sealed
on the inside to reduce moisture retention in the
clay. The paint on the outside will age with weather
and time. The Vietnamese pottery is frost resistant
stoneware, and can also be left outside.
Through the last seven years, we at
Imports West have seen how well the craftsmen have
perfected the pottery, and have found it to withstand
even the coldest of winters. However, if the container
is not allowed to drain, and is holding water, the
expansion of the water inside may cause cracking.
In fact, we see a new trend of year-long
container plantings using evergreens and seasonal
plantings.
Due to the nature of pottery and different
conditions we can not make a guarantee, but believe
these recommendation from the test of time.
